Bio

Over the years, Ah-Ling has helped many woman and children in various capacities, from being an educator to being a direct service care provider. She holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology, studied Counseling in graduate school and was a Women's Resource Center volunteer for several years. In May 2002, after living seven years in Japan teaching English, she returned to the US and underwent my Doula training with Doulas of California.  She has been a hands-on Doula since October 2002. Most recently, she completed DONA Doula Training. She is also a Certified Lactation Counselor who can help new moms with breastfeeding.  She is also trained in Redirecting Children's Behavior and is able to help support siblings through the introduction of the new baby into the family.

"The birth of a child is an amazing and transformative time for the whole family.  The whole family, not just the mother and  child benefits from knowledgeable care and support during this special time. As a Doula, I provide the support necessary to navigate through this joyous journey. I am dedicated in helping families through this incredible transition while respecting their individual parenting choices. Being a Doula allows me to fulfill my desire to help women, children & their families in a personal & nurturing manner. I am a mother of an 9 year son, Sage.  When I first read about doula work, I wished I had benefited from a doula after the early  birth of my son.  It would have made it so much easier. I hope I can make it more enjoyable for other mothers."

Whole Life was happy to have Ah-Ling join our staff because she has a great deal of experience helping moms of multiples. She can help with breastfeeding multiples and getting them into a healthy sleep schedule. One of her specialty areas is helping the family and baby(ies) both to develop healthy sleeping habits.  One of the fathers who commented on her care said that " Ah-Ling was very knowledgeable and wonderful as she helped us create healthy sleeping patterns with our newborn twins."  The mother of these twins complimented her assistance helping the family to overcome reflux and an efficient feeding schedule.
Ah-Ling is very calm and efficient.  She can help make the first few months after the baby comes home more enjoyable for the whole family.
